Buddy's Place, where the music is!
Buddy’s Place began in 2011 as a series of House Concert events hosted in a tiny townhome living room just south of Nashville.
Buddy was looking for a way to show support and encouragement to several of his singer songwriter friends working odd jobs and
trying to make ends meet while pursuing their dreams in music! Over the years, we have hosted live music in small condos, personal homes, community centers, food truck events, Madame Tussaud's Wax Museum, Cedar Springs Ranch, and the historic Woolworth Theatre to name a few. Fast forward 15 years later, 100+ shows all over Nashville, 130+ singer songwriters
(including Kelsea Ballerini, Brett Young, Carly Pearce, Ryan Larkins and Charlie Worsham) sharing nearly 3000 songs and Buddy’s Place finds itself hosting a series of residency shows at one of Nashville’s most talked about new music venues – Chief’s on Broadway! It’s an honor to be a part of this special venue that is focused on the support of original music and the special talents that create it.

Get your tickets now for a great night of live music, stories and songs with some of Nashville’s best singer songwriter artists on Tuesday, June 16th at 7:00 pm. Buddy’s Place is excited to welcome JANELLE ARTHUR, DAN SMALLEY and SMITHFIELD to the Neon Steeple concert hall, located in the heart of Eric Church’s Chief’s on Broadway. It’s an intimate, up close and personal acoustic night of music, with reserved seating. Don’t Miss It!
Janelle Arthur is no stranger to the spotlight. She began performing at Dollywood when she was 8 years old portraying one of her musical heroes, a young Dolly Parton. From that time and thousands of shows later, she has had the opportunity to be a guest on The Today Show, The Kelly & Michael Show, The Tonight Show with Jay Leno, Access Hollywood, and Today in Nashville. As an entertainer, Janelle has had the pleasure of opening shows for or performing with: Vince Gill, Rascal Flatts, Craig Morgan, and The Band Perry. Her lifetime dream to perform on the world-famous “Grand Ole Opry” became a reality on June 19, 2013, and she has been a repeated guest many times since then.Janelle made her big screen debut with her first feature film role as the star of the Runnin’ From My Roots along with Janine Turner, Leigh Allyn Baker, Patrick Muldoon, Nia Sioux, and playing her mom in the film, country’s own… Deana Carter. The film was released world-wide December 11, 2018. “Runnin’ From My Roots,” the lead single and title track of the film is one of five songs co-written by Arthur, and featured on the accompanying soundtrack (produced by Deana Carter) for the faith-based drama. The accompanying video was the single most viewed video on CMT.com at its debut and was the number 1 video in the CMT Music 12 Pack for 6 out of the 9 weeks that it aired. Janelle Arthur has proven to be one of the most promising multi-dimensional entertainers since Dolly Parton and Reba McEntire with her inherent ability to connect with audiences through film, television, and live shows.
Rooted in stunning harmonies and heartfelt songwriting, Smithfield is a modern country duo inspired by one of the genre’s classic traditions: the male-female duet.Smithfield formed in 2011, drawing not only upon the family history that bound Jennifer and Trey together, but also the musical influences that set them apart. From the start, Smithfield’s music was a unique mix of the contemporary and the classic, blurring the boundaries between country, pop, and rock. There’s no lead singer in Smithfield. No main songwriter, either. Instead, Jennifer and Trey split those duties equally, writing harmony-filled songs that explore love, loss, and life from both sides of a relationship. The two moved to Nashville in 2012, eager to carry the torch for country music’s rich legacy of male-female duets into the 21st century. It was there — in the same city that inspired classic collaborations between Dolly Parton and Porter Wagoner; Tim McGraw and Faith Hill; and Loretta Lynn and Conway Twitty — that Smithfield fine-tuned their own brand of platonic chemistry. Songs like “Hey Whiskey” and “We’ll Figure It Out” rewarded the independent duo with major-label-sized success, including multiple appearances at the Grand Ole Opry, airplay on satellite radio, 150 million digital streams, acclaim from Rolling Stone, and shows with fellow country artists like Brothers Osborne, Scotty McCreery, Morgan Wallen, Kane Brown, Sara Evans, Josh Turner, Dustin Lynch, and Old Dominion.
After growing up on his family's potato farm in Smyrna, Delaware, future country star Chuck Wicks spent his college years discovering his musical talents. After graduation, he moved to Nashville in 2002 to pursue a songwriting career. He was soon penning close to 100 songs a year, one of which caught the ear of the RCA label. The story of a suitor asking for girlfriend's hand in marriage, "Stealing Cinderella" became Wicks' debut single when RCS serviced it to radio during the summer of 2007. That September, Wicks took part in the ill-fated reality television show Nashville, which only aired for two episodes before being axed by the Fox network. The cancellation may have actually helped Wicks, though, since he was now able to focus on promoting the single and making his debut at the Grand Ole Opry. By the late fall, the song was becoming a staple for the father/daughter dance at weddings, as well as a Top 10 hit on country radio.
"Stealing Cinderella" also appeared on Starting Now, Wicks' debut album. Released in early 2008, the album debuted at number 24 on the Billboard 200 and spawned two more country hits: "All I Ever Wanted" went to 14 and "Man of the House" topped out at 27.
During 2010, Wicks released "Hold That Thought" and "Old School," singles that went no further than 42 and 43, respectively. These were the first tastes of what would've been a second album for RCA, but after the singles stiffed, the album was scrapped and Wicks went into a period of working behind the scenes. His biggest placement as a songwriter was "I Don't Do Lonely Well," which recorded on 2012's Night Train. Wicks resurfaced as a recording artist with a self-released EP called Rough in the spring of 2013. Over the next two years, he put out five singles -- "Us Again," released in early 2014, fared best, peaking at 36 -- culminating in the release of the full-length Turning Point in the spring of 2016. He’s gone on to make appearances on “Dancing with the Stars” on ABC and NBC’s “Ironman.” Part of the
ACM nominated radio talk show “Ty, Kelly and Chuck,” he’s most recently produced and starred in Nashville’s #1 variety show
“Shiners” at the historic Woolworth Theatre.
Buddy’s Place began as a series of intimate house concerts in 2011 and has steadily grown in popularity over the years. A recent review referred to Buddy’s Place as “an excellent alternative to the famous Bluebird Café”! The well-respected “Nashville tradition” music series now graces the stage at Eric Church’s Chief’s on Broadway hosting intimate nights of live music with a monthly residency! Determined to hold true to a promise made to fellow music lovers that Buddy’s Place is “where you won’t hear crap!” – come join us and find out for yourself!

Fraser Churchill is a Grammy Award Winning songwriter who has written for artists like Charlie Puth, Michael Buble, Flo.Rida, Lukas Graham, Mickey Guyton, Walker Hayes and many more.
A British/Canadian singer-songwriter currently living in Nashville, his musical journey began at 18 when he studied music at Paul McCartney’s fame academy in Liverpool. After four years of honing his craft, he moved to London, performing live four nights a week. It was during this time that Fraser began flying to Nashville to write.
Fraser stands out in the music scene with his fusion of soul & modern pop. His recent release, 'Fever', showcases his talent for crafting songs that blend catchy melodies with deeply resonant lyrics. Known for his dynamic vocal style and multi-instrumental skills, Fraser's music connects intimately with audiences, making each song a shared experience.
His international breakthrough as a songwriter came with the Charlie Puth song, “Patient” off the album Voicenotes. Fraser's vibrant live performances and growing discography that explores various aspects of his musical identity have earned him acclaim in the industry. With a track record that includes co-writing the 2021 Grammy-nominated Mickey Guyton song, “Black Like Me,” as well as other notable hits, Fraser Churchill is not just a musician but a storyteller whose songs echo the complexities of human emotions.
Nashville starlet Kayley Bishop blends Bob Seger’s rock and roll, Dolly Parton’s bluegrass storytelling and Aretha Franklin’s soulful serenade into a one-of-a-kind music cocktail. It's hard to put Bishop in a box, as she continues to find new ways to showcase her powerhouse vocal and songwriting prowess through genre-bending musical combos. She loves merging the old with the new and finding inspiration from artists who were musical trail-blazers. Keith Urban has described her voice as a “gumbo of Celine Dion, Natalie Maines and Jewel.”
The East Tennessee-native says her, “heart beats like it were made to be tethered to a song.” Having written hundreds of songs to date, Kayley continues to amaze every crowd she performs in front of with her expertly crafted lyrics and chill-inducing vocals. Performing regularly in Nashville and around the country, the seasoned performer and songstress is no stranger to the stage.
From Season 15 of NBC’s The Voice, Kayley is now in the process of releasing her next original project with Grammy® Nominated producer, Eric Torres. Her past releases can be found across all digital music platforms, as well.
Clark Beckham’s talent is indisputable. It’s as simple as that. Growing up just outside of Nashville, Tennessee, Clark discovered an undeniable love for music through church and later on as a street performer where his bluesy vocals could be heard throughout the streets of Music City. After graduating from Lee University, the multi-instrumentalist traded in the bustling streets of downtown Nashville for the bright lights of Hollywood. In 2015, Clark received his golden ticket for Season 14 of American Idol where he captivated millions across the globe and was voted the runner-up of the season. Clark’s live performances dominated the top 10 most-viewed videos on American Idol’s YouTube channel.
In 2018, Clark released his Year One EP, which debuted at #6 on iTunes’ Alternative chart and #22 on Billboard’s R&B Sales chart. Since then, Clark has performed with the famous Nashville Symphony, opened up for platinum-selling recording artists Jon Bellion and Allen Stone, and was nominated for a Teen Choice Award. Clark is currently gearing up to resume his tour to promote the release of his album, Light Year, which infuses elements of Soul/R&B with pop melodies. The latest release from the album, “Luckiest Man,” is a lyrically beautiful, stripped-down track with a deeply personal meaning.
Inspired by musical icons from Stevie Wonder and Ray Charles to Marvin Gaye and Al Greene, Clark combines his love of timeless Soul/R&B music with pop sounds and melodies to create a sound uniquely his own. From growing up singing in a gospel trio to performing on the streets of Broadway all the way to an illustrious stage in Hollywood, Clark has achieved a magnitude of success thus far. With a captivating and dynamic energy, complemented by his effortless vocal range, Clark’s musical journey is just getting started.

Get your tickets now for a great night of live music, stories and songs with some of Nashville’s best singer songwriter artists on Tuesday, July 14 at 7:00 pm! Buddy’s Place is excited to welcome Lauren Mascitti, Walker County, and Adam Hambirck to the Neon Steeple concert hall, located in the heart of Eric Church’s Chief’s on Broadway. It’s an intimate, up close and personal acoustic night of music,
an ALL-AGES SHOW with reserved seating tickets!
Millions first discovered Lauren Mascitti during her unforgettable run on American Idol in 2020, but her journey as an artist began long before national television. A musical prodigy, Lauren was writing songs and performing by age 7, and by her teens was already captivating audiences six nights a week in Branson, Missouri alongside gospel legend and original Oak Ridge Boy, Gary McSpadden.
Since moving to Nashville from her hometown of Louisville, OH, Lauren has built an impressive resume sharing stages and writing rooms with icons like Pam Tillis, Matraca Berg, Suzy Bogguss, Delbert McClinton, and Lonestar. She performed with Brad Paisley and Shania Twain in a nationally televised concert honoring healthcare heroes during the pandemic — a nod to her own background as an RN.
Lauren’s heartfelt songwriting and soaring vocals have earned her coveted performances on the legendary Grand Ole Opry stage and opening slots on tour with Lonestar, including their historic first headlining show at the Iconic Ryman Auditorium.
Her breakout album God Made a Woman earned critical acclaim, landing on The New York Times and Saving Country Music’s Best Albums of 2020 lists and climbing to #4 on the iTunes Country chart.
Now, with a brand new project produced by Dean Sams (founding member of Lonestar) on the way, Lauren Mascitti stands poised on the edge of a major breakthrough, bringing her timeless country sound, powerful stories, and undeniable authenticity to fans across the country.
In 2014, sisters Ivy and Sophie, then teenagers, signed a major label record deal with Warner Music Nashville as duo Walker County. Fans around the world have followed as their sound and their spirits have evolved over the better part of a decade. From heartbreaks to true loves and county fairs to The Kelly Clarkson Show, the women of Walker County have grown into the future superstars they’ve always been destined to be. Sophie’s hard-driving rhythms on the drumkit and Ivy’s strutting, soulful vocals create a unique blend of country music that was inspired by the sounds of middle America they grew up on. Their blood-thick harmonies and inimitable verve continue to shine underneath maturing lyricism. The CMT Listen Up and Next Women of Country artists are practiced road warriors, opening for the likes of Willie Nelson, Dwight Yoakam, Martina McBride, Old Dominion and more. They’ve already earned millions of streams with fan-favorite tracks such as “Bits & Pieces” and “Drag It Out,” and their first official EP, No Smoke and Mirrors, is out now. It may not be exactly the Walker County you know… but it is the Walker County you love.
It was in the creaky pews of small country churches in Arkansas and Mississippi where Adam Hambrick first found his voice. The son of a pastor, Adam's early years had faith, family and music in the same way a catfish has muddy water. It was both backdrop and oxygen.
Hambrick first started to dream the dream at 12 when he was given a 1960's Gibson by his grandfather. He clunked along trying to mimic his heroes (Garth, Alan Jackson, John Mayer, etc) until college when he began to write songs of his own. While at the U. of Central Arkansas, Adam grew a following in the college bars and a thirst for the stage. His first 10-song project found its way to country star Justin Moore, and Justin encouraged Adam to pursue a career writing songs in Nashville.
Since moving to Nashville in 2013, Adam has become a fixture in its songwriting community. He has written #1 songs for Dan and Shay ("How Not To") and Justin Moore ("Somebody Else Will") and has had songs recorded by many of Nashville's brightest stars (Brett Young, Miranda Lambert, Sara Evans, Walker Hayes, Maddie and Tae, Eli Young Band and more)
Adam's writing successes have earned him his own artist platform. His music has been streamed over 100 million times, including his debut top-40 radio single "Rockin' All Night Long," the 2021 EP "The Flipsides" and his latest full length project, "Free Country." He has performed on The Grand Ole Opry, ABC's The Bachelorette, The Ryman Auditorium and on revered stages all over the world.
